Sprint boosters and remaps

I have a sprint booster on the car and can't help feel it might be a bit wasted. As I generally drive quite a bit softer than the previous owner the car has adjusted itself to my driving, and the pedal and gearing is more docile now than when I picked it up.

If there's a remap on the car that's adjusted the power delivery, the car itself adjusting the sensitivity of the throttle dependent on driver, do you think the sprint booster is even doing anything constructive?

TRIXMAN,

The acid test is what you think alone so if youre not sure, take it off and see if there is any difference ?

I read some where that the gearbox adaption resets everytime you start the engine so if thats the case its a no win situation for us chaps that like to drive steady most of the time but with the occasional qualifying lap thrown in !

I will happily take it back off you Paul - as i think it will fit on my CSL. To be fair, i am a very aggressive driver and it suited me down to the ground - but it is probably wasted on you to be honest.

that's the thing Steve, don't know if it's doing anything cause the gearbox has definately 'chilled'. Might try taking off to see the difference like you said yvesd, might be I've just got used to it. Although I'm not complaining, like the throttle response, just wondering if it would make a difference with an adaptive system anyway

Marlie - give Mstyle a call - they are in Romford, Essex - ask for Paul and tell him i sent you - he will explain in better detail than i can and if you decide you fancy one he will do you a deal if you mention my name as ive spent a small fortune with him!! I personally think they are great value for money if you like immediate throttle response. Ps; are you going up to Evolve today??

Its adapted matey - guarantee it will be faster. When i re-dynoed mine about month after Evolve did it it was putting down almost 10bhp more!!!!!

More than that Steve, your original dyno graph says 360 and a bit, Imran tells me its now doing 378. (although its probably back down to 360 now ).

Marlie, as Steve said, it alters the response of the throttle from progressive to linear I believe. I might try mine without (out of interest) to see the difference and if I prefer the progressive feel of the throttle. I'll let you know what difference it makes.

As i said matey - if you do prefer the car without the sprint booster then i will take it back off your hands if i can confirm it fits my CSL.
