i haven't even looked to see if you can, but o know you are able to reset the kombi, or the light module to default setting. Is it safe to do the same with the dme?

If you mean using NCSExpert to default code (i.e. SG_codieren after loading the 'default' or 'factory coding' or 'expertmode' profile) or to reset (i.e. SG_reset, which simply re-starts the module), sure. Safe for any module.

Yes.
Just keep in mind that the profile name might be different in your installation depending on where you downloaded it from. The idea of 'default' coding is that NCSExpert reads your VO (vehicle order) from CAS (or NFRM if you choose) to determine what options were installed at the factory and then codes whichever module you select to original factory settings for those options. The text associated with the function key numbers may change also. For example, you may see "Start" associated with F1, rather than (VIN/ZCS/FA); you may see "Chassis" associated with F3 rather than (ZCS/FA) etc. Last edited by dpaul; 12-09-2021 at 03:57 AM.. |
