FRM BRICKED? OR SOFTWARE/ Hardware malfunction
New member here and first post.
I am trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong or there is a problem with my hardware. Short description of problem: Replaced Angel Eye headlight bulbs saw the wiring insulation completely gone. Quickly electrically taped around the wiring and started the Car to see if bulbs worked. The Headlights came on High and turn signals don't work, windows don't work. I ordered new lenses and wiring materials and rewired the internal wiring of headlights. (fixed the most likely problem) -Ordered Bimmergeeks K-DCan cable, and once arrived I installed the Bimmergeeks Standard BMW tool set from there download link and followed the install instructions from one of the various Youtubers. -Changed the settings for the cable in the device properties. -Reinstalled fixed headlights -Connected cable to PC and then to Car. Started INPA. It shows cable connected but even when car is in ignition position or running INPA doesn't show it. -I attempted using tool32 to get some sort of status from FRM70 (as I have an FRM3 module), and received the IFH-0009 no communication with unit. If anyone can help me figure out what is going on that would be so great. I have ordered USP-USB to try the FRM3 bricked module fix, but i am also trying to figure out if there is anything else i can try. |

The module is likely bricked as it is very common issue on FRM3's. As you described the symptoms are the same as yours windows not working, signals too, hazard lights, only brake lights and headlights are working. Finds some1 with a programmer like Xprog to fix the module for you or buy one yourself and fix it. You just need 10 minutes to solder the pins to the module and 15 seconds to clear the memory of the module. There are a lot of videos over the internet regarding the FRM3.
