slow off the line (mhd stage 1+)
Got a 09 335i rwd 6AT that's running an OTS mhd stage 1+ 91 oct tune. I feel like the initial pick up off the line is quite sluggish and i'm not sure if i'm just expecting too much from a OTS tune. I'm not getting any CELs.
Here is a 3rd gear log: https://datazap.me/u/infcreations981...og=0&data=3-22 I've used dragy to log a 1/4 mile run and I got 12.94@112mph with a 60ft of 2.27s. 0-60 was only 5.02s which seems really slow since stock these cars were advertised to do 4.7s. This is starting in 1st gear and brake boosting to about 2.5k rpm Based on the log and dragy times, is this in line with what a ots stage 1+ tune can do or are there any problems that I need to address? (boost leaks, fueling, etc...) Last edited by infinite_creations25; 04-18-2022 at 10:22 PM.. |

Log looks good for 91 octane. Unfortunately, you are expecting too much from 91 octane maps.

5.02 sec stage 1+ 91oct tune is perfectly fine. Try v10 stage 1+ Use the 1M throttle option to reduce throttle lag. Bear in mind 91oct is basically the worst fuel you can use. |

Stage 1 targets ~14psi and Stage 1+ targets like ~18-19psi if I recall correctly. Keep in mind that stage 1+ does require an upgraded intercooler which the log suggests you are on a stock intecooler since you had like a 20degree increase in intake temps by the end of the pull. Also the 4.7 0-60 times is for the E90 M3, not the 335i. Last edited by lookalikehuuh; 04-19-2022 at 09:35 AM.. Reason: spelling |

I actually am using the 1M throttle sensitvity option which did help with throttle lag. It just seems like the car feels very heavy especially accelerating off the line, like it's slow to build boost. Does the log I posted indicate a boost leak or worn turbos? I've considered flashing to v10 maps but from all the datalogs posted by others, it looks like these maps run very high wgdc (up in the 70% range). Quote:
I'm using a 5" mishimoto intercooler (non-stepped) which does seem to underperform compared to stepped intercoolers. It's definitely better than stock because I remember IATs would go up 60F~ Interesting, I thought I remember reading from a few car reviews that the e90/e92 335i's did 0-60 in 4.7. I guess I was wrong lol |

WGDC should be around 50% on V10 map stage 1+ Here's a V10 Stage 1+ 93oct map (credit to DJT81185) not mine. https://datazap.me/u/djt81185/stock-...data=3-4-20-28 Try it, otherwise try V9. OTS maps are pretty safe/Conservative, you can always switch back if you don't like it. Stock bmw lists 0-60mph in about 5.8, 4.7 is highly over optimistic for stock, even for Stage 1+ on 91oct fuel. |

ahhhh that makes sense since all the logs I had ever used were v8 and higher from what I recall they all showed the "Stage 1+" in the log. I guess you learn something new every day.
Also interesting that stage 1+ for V7 has much lower boost targets compared to my old Stage 1+ V9 maps. https://datazap.me/u/lookalikehuuh/i...data=3-4-13-18 Don't mind all the timing corrections, I hadn't replaced my plugs/coils at that time. But anyway V9 on my car would target up to 17.7PSI using 91ACN, since I live in California and that's our "premium" fuel. |

Your E50 log might target less boost but it will produce more power with greater timing. https://datazap.me/u/lookalikehuuh/e...=0&data=3-4-22 Last edited by Saif2018; 04-20-2022 at 11:24 AM.. |

I think Pure Stage 2 Turbos are in the plan as soon as I figure out what fishing boat I'm going to buy before summer is here |
