What is an irrational fear you have?
Every night when I walk my pup I “fear” some car is going to come around the corner and I’m a victim of a drive by
(Mind you I live in a Lilly white retirement community) |

I have an irrational fear. Fabric seating surfaces in public spaces. I'll stand for an hour before sitting on a fabric chair in a doctors office. If I go to a movie I won't come home and sit on my furniture before changing my clothing. I'm messed up.

When I was a kid I used to never close my eyes in the swimming pool because I believed a shark would sneak up and eat me.
Now, I'm scared of sharks in tornados...

Spiders and dogs.
I will cross a road to get away from a dog and shit myself whenever I get remotely near one. I have general fear of spiders no matter the size but, because I am tall, I always fear running into a orb spiders web and the spider is on my face. |

Duhhhh, Florida....its not a designated retirement community but I'm 48 and everyone on the block is retired
I'm so so sorry Quote:
And now we have both in Florida. We put an offer on a house in Wisconsin 2008 and didn't get the place. 2 months later a tornado ripped through the town a few blocks away and leveled a mile long row.....we bought 15 miles away and had tornado sirens in the back yard b/c there was a high school and that SH!T is scary. Spent a few hours in the basement many times |

Kinda morbid but scared i will die before my mother does, it'd just absolutely destroy her. Also scared i'd leave two sons without a guiding hand, my wife is an excellent mother but her priority is to mother them, not prepare them, we play different roles.
So been trying to lose the chunk, eat better, more exercise, all that shit. |

FUCKING ORB WEAVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those who don't know what these fuckers do, they build these MOINUMMENTAL webs between trees, they are a good size spider with a painful bite, though for aussies it's a "they're harmless" because they won't kill you but the bite hurts. So you're walking along and BANG youre in the fucking web face first and you can see the shadowy figure of what is now an agitated spider so you start the frantic waving and running thing, asking the nearest human to check your back and head. I miss home every waking fucking hour but DO NOT miss those bastards. Same with the piss off huge wasps, the ones you hear coming like a god damn helicopter, serious attitude problem they have and the sting is fucking wicked. I saw one once fighting a spider the size of my hand and the bastard won, they are big enough to shoot with a pellet gun ffs. |

Not because they will hurt me, but that they will infect me......and I will become just like them.

Time. I need 48hrs in a day and a cloning machine. They say life is like a roll of toilet paper, closer you get to the end the quicker it goes. I'm young and it is killing me how fast shit is moving by lol

Opening a thread to find someone quoted something with 10 images, that was quoted again, and then quoted again, and now I'm having to scroll past the same images multiple times just to find a reply of "nice! what wheels are those?"
Oh wait, irrational fear, not irritation I can honestly say I can't think of any irrational fear, or even any real fears outside of serious discomfort with open edge heights or tight spaces, the usual. I guess I could say I fear my dog being in danger and I'm not there to protect her. I think about what if the house is burning and she is stuck in there scared out of her wits. But thats not an irrational fear, its a pretty legit concern even if the probability is low. I do have trypophobia, not really a fear, but when it's triggered it's an immediate get the fuck outta there response.

My wife driving my car.
It's not totally irrational I guess.... she does have a history of hopping curbs. And that's fine in the SUV, but my car would suffer major damage if she decided to hop a curb in it. In my younger single days I used to think it was hot when girls would drive nice cars (and by nice cars I mean sporty, fast cars). But I guess that only applied to their own cars... not my car
