70mm exhaust pipe to 65mm muffler?
Hi, I have 328i, and I have replaced its exhaust pipes with 330i which seems to have different size after the resonator which goes to the muffler, its 70mm. I have 328i "Performance Exhaust" muffler (1810-2208794), but its size is 65mm. Would it be ok to use it and join 70mm to 65mm (adding a ring on the 65mm PE muffler to make it 70mm and join it)? Any other ideas?
I hope I should not lose performance as PE muffler is more open compared to stock 330i muffler even though diameters are different? Last edited by Hotter; 05-10-2022 at 01:38 AM.. |

It seems like inside PE pipe becomes 70mm again, so its just the end of it which is 65mm. My mechanic somehow managed to remove that 65mm piece (I guess by cutting very close to the muffler) and welded it to 70mm. So its kind of 70mm all the way. Just not sure how he managed to do that, and if internal parts joins smoothly...
