My E91 Adventure Mobile w/ RTT
Maybe I should've bought a Toyota or Subaru.. No way. I love this car for its versatility, practicality, and the way it drives. Plus its hard to beat the creature comforts German cars offer.
I bought this car with 72k miles in May of 2020. Since then I've added 50k+ miles and its been a dream. Still the only car I've owned that I love as much as the day I bought it. Spent many nights in the car, now I spend them on top Planning a road trip from Ohio to Alaska, which was a big determining factor to raise the suspension. I want to be able to get everywhere I want to go in this car (within reason.) Yes a 4Runner or Outback would be ideal. But I don't need the extra size, and they are stupid money right now. Plus German wagons are cooler anyway. Current specs: OE suspension with 2" spacer lift kit Yokohoma GeoLander A/T 215/60R16 (changing tires to General Grabber AT/X 215/65R16) 12mm front, 15mm rear wheel spacers Previous suspension specs: H&R Lowering Springs E30 rubber 15mm spacers above rear springs to remove reverse rake Tent specs: Yakima SkyRise HD Small (2 person) Yakima Slimshady 8' Awning OE BMW crossbars on factory rails. (These bars are extremely sturdy) Thule Wind Fairing For anyone that cares. Yes E91's can make incredible adventure mobiles! Of course I much prefer the lowered look. But for my use, a little extra ground clearance was welcomed with open arms. Last edited by BWK; 07-05-2022 at 03:40 PM.. Reason: added pics |

I love it. Just swap those wheels out for some Apexs and you'll be fully set

Although I'm not fond of how the lift looks, it sure comes in handy.
Recent trip to Dolly Sods Wilderness in WV for some car camping and a few nights backpacking. |

Man, I'm super surprised that those tires don't rub with the spacers fitted. I'm running a set of 5-series wheels that are 16x7 et20. They came with the (very worn out) OEM E60 tires, 225/55/R16's, and they rubbed like crazy on the front when I tried them out for a bit before getting normal OEM 16" tires put on.
Your wheels are ET31 I think, so with the spacers, its about the same as mine, and you're running a much taller tire than I did with the OEM E60 tires. |

Still loving the way it drives, as it has a totally different but unique driving character. |
