Looking for BMW specialty shop around Boston
Hey all ,
I have a decently modified 335i with a single kit and suspension upgrades etc. I've been trying to figure out a steering issue and after replacing / upgrading the entire front end I think it's time to take it to a shop. I do most my own work so I really don't know any bmw specific shops so I was wondering if anyone knew any around Boston that's modification friendly. Thank you in advanced ! |

Around Boston area is pretty vague. Are you a Boston chapter member?
https://www.wilemotorsport.com/ Turner still has the place but I don't think they turn wrenches on private cars. https://www.bavarianperformancegroup.com/ not sure how they are never used them. https://www.bostonmotorwerks.com/ Once a year Boston Chapter publishes a list of their recommended shops It's a nice list it's on line somewhere maybe another chapter member has a link to it. Never mind here it is. https://boston-bmwcca.org/friends/ Very lack luster list they have on the site now. Wile is a track/speed shop. I know there is more, Torgus should chime in, he lives out your way. I haven't lived in Boston region is over two decades. Last edited by M-technik-3; 06-13-2022 at 06:36 AM.. |

I can vouch for Bavarian Performance in Winchester, myself, parents and grandparents have all used them.
However they would be #2 behind my preferred shop of choice being German Performance Service out of Alston, which sounds like it would be a hop skip and a jump for you in Somerville. They've been super honest with me and talked me out of services at times, despite losing money on their end. Always seem to have some fun/exotic European (mostly German) cars in the shop whenever I stop by which further makes me feel confident. |

Guys at 'Workshop' in Chelmsford - all German cars. Audi, BMW, VW.. some Land Rover and exotics. I have had very good luck with them fixing other peoples works. They just moved to a larger space. Used to wait 2-3 weeks.. now its down to 3-5 days for most work. Good luck.

Can vouch for Bav Perf Group in Winchester - I live near them and use them for all maint and plenty of repairs. Cost is pretty similar to a dealer, but the work is always absolutely perfect.

RayTeam in Waltham. Ask for Alex (Previous E90 owner). They just did the motor mounts and oil pan gasket on my E92, and a bit of work on my F15.

Any melting from the DPs? Is there a thermal sock or anything that goes over the passenger side mount? I finally finished my fuel system install on the e92 w/ the full return and have it set to 72psi on the dot. I guess next year it will go full E85 and I will dyno. Life is so damn busy.

I used the DEI gold reflective tape on the passenger side mount, but the heat still took a toll on the internal PU. Weather is still good enough to drive, head to the dyno now. |

I can also vouch for North Shore Motor Werks in Peabody. They just moved up the street to a brand new facility and the place is clean. Just had my turbos done with them about 3 months ago. All the work comes with a 3yr/36000mile warranty, so they stand behind their work. They also operate with integrity and will tell you straight up if somethings not needed, or doing the honest thing, and cutting labor on multiple jobs if there is cross labor. FWIW I live in Westport and I still make the grueling hour and a half trek because of the peace of mind. I've been using him for about 6 years now and service from start to finish has never slipped. Sorry I sound like an ad, but I love my baby and if your like me you only want the best. My car is heavily modded and it makes for more of a pain in the ass for him, he has no problem still servicing it.
