HELP!!! N54 cranks, no start after swap
Hi:
Thanks in advance for all the replies. Problem: Car was working fine, until timing chain guide broke. Followed VehicularDIY on YT on how to replace. Replaced rod bearings and OFHG while the car was down. Buttoned the car back up and was it was able to start (had a rough idle) took it for a spin to the gas station. Shut the car off and filled up the tank, drove around for 5 min (still rough idle). Drove the car home and shut it off, went to start it and cranks but no start. What I've done so far: Checked EKP - no issues Replaced Ground cable (chassis to engine) Took out IBS Replaced fuel pump relay I do not have any software programs but was able to grab some codes using bimmwrtool (attached pics below) The ECU doesn't respond to some modules, so i'm thinking it is a DME issue (transmitter dead or reflash ) ? I know I need to grab some software. What would you guys recommend ? I want to grab bimmergeeks protools and call it a day, but IF I have a DME issue ProTool's won't be able to program it correct? INPA/ISTA would be great but I need to buy a whole other comp and the learning curve is steep. If you read all this thanks. Look forward to y'all replies and getting this thing back on the road |
