Problems with the wirings

So I have an 1996 E36 316i Sedan. Just bought last year. No problems for the most part but recently got an overheat. Had new coolants, water pump, thermostat. Also changed the plastic rad to alloy rad. But the overheat persists.

My mechanic told me its the thermoswitch that has a problem. Replaced it but still has it. He said that it might have a problem with the wirings especially the car being old and lots of aftermarket installation gone wrong (just installed and connected to any wire they saw).

Does it help to go general rewiring and if so, what do i need to buy for the car. Appreciate any help
