Cadillac Escalade V review (pro pics)
If you are like me, you probably have not given much thought to the Escalade. It's always been sort of frozen in time from the ubiquitous early 2000s version.
Well, I think that's a mistake, because once I sat inside of one, I was taken aback by its quality (and 150k asking price). No, it isn't as fast or dynamic as an X5 M, and that's sort of the point. It's hilarious to drive. https://machineswithsouls.com/2022/1...lade-v-review/

I don't most of us would need to drive one to know that it's just a tarted up Tahoe and that it looks terrible. Squash the front end 6 inches and it looks like a minivan.
People have to be off their rocker to pay $150K for something like this, just like those bonkers people paying $70K+ for F150s and such. People and automakers have lost their minds.

It is absolutely a tarted up Tahoe. Take this thing a part and compare it to a German make and you'll see a HUGE difference in the quality and engineering. I'll also had that I think German SUVs are just about as stupid as this thing. I just shake my head and laugh at the suckers buying these things.
To each their own.

The Air suspension, Magnetic ride control and V-8 are on par, or better than, anything German. Just try things before you judge is all I’d say.

Truly need? Not many. 3 kids or more, or you need to haul a lot of stuff in comfort.

It is absolutely gigantic, but I also don't have a family with 12 kids to haul around. If I did, I'd probably want an SUV with 700HP to do it though.

The Escalade-V reminds me of the G63 in that it absolutely has no need or right to exist but yet it is amazing and incredibly silly at the same time that its hard not to love it. Hearing that Supercharged V8 roar out of an Escalade is just amazing in itself.

I would never pay $150k for any GM product. Not even a Z06. Let alone a damn Caddy. I'm sure they'll be lots of people who have no issue though.
