Am I weird ?

So, a serious question............ or maybe not

Summer is approaching and today in Canada we hit 20 degs !

My first slushy (booster juice) and I got the usual, so I looked up how to avoid my "condition" and found out that I may be abnormal !

OMG what am I talking about BRAIN FREEZE except I don't get it in my brain!
I get throat freeze

SO please vote on what you get and your thoughts on why we get it and how to avoid it !

so

I'm honestly not sure what this thread is asking for, but I found the "crimbo" thread fairly weird. Didn't know that word existed, but thank you for sharing it with the class Nazali from Canada

Brain Freeze - 100%. Take out frozen drink place in my hometown and it kind of is a summer right of passage when you stop in for your first "Trop's" of the year.........and I get brain freeze 100% of the time.

Drink without a straw sometime - it stops brain freeze, but never had throat freeze, so can't speak to that.

Isn't brain freeze a result of the blood going through your neck on the way to the brain getting cooled down from cold liquid in the throat? Kind of like an intercooler.....i don't know. If that's how it works then you could argue brain freeze/throat freeze are somewhat the same.

I clicked on this thread because I was sure I knew the answer to the question. Unfortunately there's no option for YES!

They are related but different, I googled up throat freeze as I always thought I was having brain freeze, but it was my throat, some people even have chest freeze.

Good analogy on the intercooler,

trust a car guy !

Never had throat freeze, but I avoid brain freeze at all cost because it's extremely painful. I'm always amazed to see people induce it for fun. Yeah, not fun at all to me.

At least to address brain freeze, press you thumb against the roof of you mouth

Nazli not sure about your throat freeze, but sounds like the start of a “script”
