Rip Jr Tunes
So I have a JR stage 2.5 2010 335d. I recently discovered JR's 3.1 tune that just requires a new r90 high pressure fuel pump. My dad and I completed the alphabet soup by ourselves last year so we thought it would be fun to replace this HPFP and get some more power. However, I just checked today to see the tune prices and I realized that they are permanently unavailable. I've only ever thought to use JR tunes. So I thought I would come here to inquire about any tunes that as of today, are able to be purchased so we can replace this r70 with a r90 pump? Thanks in advance!

lnxguy, you've been on this forum for 7 years and know a ton about these cars. This is nrwooden's first post; he just joined the e90post! Have a heart.
TME website clearly says "As the sole USA dealer for JR Auto Performance...." If you've got a solution for this homie, let's hear it. ![]() |

JR tunes were sold out of Toronto, ON before TME came into the JR tune game. I recall they (TME) worked with him.
All this said, I’m not 100% he is still doing it. Go google JR Auto 2.8 Ontario and see what pops up. I had to ship my ECU to there and was quite nervous with customs and all involved but it worked out. There is another big player here is USA though. Tune is called BRR. If something happens with my JR 2.8, that’s where I’ll go. |

Yes, BRR got bought out by Santjer (SPD).
On the other front, another JR tuner has emerged in continental US. I can't state their name as I promised. Mods would block it out anyway. My prior tunes with TME/JR Auto will be honored by them if I need a reload for some reason like dealer overwrite. Last edited by BB_cuda; 04-27-2023 at 01:27 PM.. |

Update:
I ordered the hpfp sold by Darkside Developments. It comes in on Monday. I bought the hpfp removal tool and some extra fuel line. I contacted JR auto performance for a 3.0 or 3.1 tune and they gave me someone else’s email. He said after I install the new pump he can get me a new tune. So I’m just waiting till Monday now. 😁 |

Update
We are installing the new fuel pump and have run into a issue that isn’t uncommon. The fuel pump doesn’t fit flush. One person who uploaded a video had a issue where it rubbed ona oil filter bracket and shaved down the pump and the bracket. We have done both but can’t seem to get it to completely fit. Does it tighten down with the 3 nuts or is it rubbing on something else? |

Update again…
I think the center piece for the pump removal tool went in slightly wrong or mine was defective… Pump doesn’t go in all the way. Calling it a night I think, if anyone can help it would be great. Thanks, Noah |

Thank you for everyone that helped my dad and I, we figured it out and got the pump in. We rebuilt the car and it took a few cranks with a battery charger, but the car started. We only needed some more oil and coolant and have had zero problems since. Good luck to anyone that swaps out their r70 for a r90! If you have any questions I can try to help!

I believe we continued shaving down any parts that even seemed that they were causing the pump to not seat. Then we tightened it as much as possible and assumed it was due to the gasket. I haven’t had any problems on my end since install.
