It's a high speed track that favors high HP.

Agree for a couple laps. GT3 does that every lap all day.

I'd like to know what sort of time penalty the freezing conditions have. I see the 2015 Z06 is within a couple tenths of a second off the C8 Z06.... surely the track conditions have a lot to do with it.

Fantastic video editing. The Porsche is bonkers beautiful and the Z06 sounds absolutely amazing.

The Z06 is targeted to the GT3, non RS. Within those comparos, it's basically in the noise. GT3 RS is a whole level higher of race-only performance and especially downforce, basically not DD-able, vs. the GT3 and Z06 that are very daily-able, with a significant daily edge still to the Z06.

And as usual, commenters here just bridged from production cars to modified cars with zero awareness or appreciation for the difference.

there are other modified cars on that list also. point is, is that it doesnt take much to make a "fat EV" faster around Willow Springs than a GT2 RS obviously I'd rather have a GT2 RS, but that still doesnt take away from the fact that performance based Tesla's are more than just Hellcat killers Last edited by Socal_R8; 05-18-2023 at 09:55 PM.. |

I just read about it, according to Unplugged, it was 4,898 pounds, and had worn-out A005 Yokohamas and less than a full charge... pretty crazy if you ask me.

It's missing a bunch of modified time attack cars that are more in line with the Tesla build, but I'll concede the time for that weight is mind bending.

can't compare modded vs factory. If thats the case bring the GT2 RS MR edition. but still, props to tesla on a hotlap, EVs have come a long way.
Z06 did well. Not an RS competitor (MRSP for one, and it has a targa roof + actual luggage ) but held up very well. lapped faster than an aventador did in the summer. The weather is the weather. Can't really cry about rain/cold when 911s still excel in those conditions thanks to the rear engine. RS gonna RS. It won. It always wins. Its a track car on a track test. CSL. its a knife that was brought to a gun fight. Would be more fair to bring a carrera GTS lightweight pack and C8 Z51.
