Ipod with I-Drive/Navi
I got a Ipod touch and '07 335I, I'm thinking about getting the ipod interface installed from BMw which will cost me around $300+... wondering if this is at all worth it? Any of you out there like it?
1)how much better is it compared to just using the aux and cradle my ipod? 2)Does the Ipod turn on when you start the car and just select your playlist/songs from I-Drive? 3)Does the Ipod shut off when you stop the engine? Please let me know before I dish out the $300+ thanks in advance. |

I have this installed in the 335 with Nav.
1. The integration and display through the screen is great. 2. iPod turns on/off with the car and the playlist continues from where you shut off the engine 3. As above The only complaint is that I have a 32GB Touch installed and it contains a lot of music by a lot of different artists. Although accessible by Artist, Genre, etc., it all stores alphabetically. Even if you were listening to an artist (eg. starting with the letter V), when you toggle back one screen, it doesn't go back to the artist playing, it goes back to the start of the alphabet. Imagine having 6 albums by an artist and accidentally clicking on the wrong album. You have to scroll from the start again. I've tried creating playlists but I really like to listen to full albums. Does anyone know a work around? |
