I have used ChatGPT to get the measurements of the airbox outlet and throttle body size.
Throttle Body Side: Outer Diameter (OD): ~80mm (3.15") Inner Diameter (ID): ~76mm (3") MAF Housing / Airbox Side: Outer Diameter (OD): ~89mm (3.5") Inner Diameter (ID): ~85mm (3.35") Angle of the tube: ~75-80 *This is taken on the assumption of the diameters above* In addition, I am trying to make a carbon elbow for the car (Buying a pre-made carbon tube). Could anyone confirm that I need to use the inner diameter of the measurements above? I will be using one silicone cuppler and a reducer cuppler. In my head, I will place the reducer at the throttle body since it will compress the air right in the throttle body (similar to a velocity stack). If anyone has more ideas or thoughts to add to this, let me know. This project is just about maximizing sound without going to a whole intake system besides the Dinan Ram mod. |

I want to ensure that with the elbow, it would be better to get closer to the 87.5mm compared to the 74.9 mm. In addition, I haven't seen a tube that matches my requirements, so I may have to do a custom one. I will try to get the angles and lengths for the elbow later in the week.

just make sure at the point of the MAF is 74.9mm for it to make proper calculations.
Unless you get a custom MAF tune to calculate to the new maf diameter, didnt have any other measurements

That sounds good. I will make sure I keep this updated on the route I take. I have the idea now; it's just adding the parts to make it work.

I did a quick measurement and from the v brand clamp to the curve is around 6 inches.
I am thinking about using the throttle body part of the original elbow and then adding a silicone hose to the area towards the maf sensor. The other idea is taking a model of the elbow but using a silicone hose to the front so the flexing doesn’t affect the carbon. The problem is I am not an expert and it’s too much time I don’t have to do. |
