Question Help with coilovers and strut mount kits, bushings and bump stops

Hey everyone, this is my first time making a post. I have a question about buying my first set of coilovers.

I am set on buying Bilstein b14 pss9 coilovers, I'm happy with the price and know I am buying from a good brand.

My question is, is it worth buying the Strut Mount Kit front and rear with new rear bump stops?. I don't have any clunking in my suspension currently but I think the bump stops and other bushing-type items are in bad shape. (torn or missing).

I have watched videos and read threads about using things like the top hats on the new shocks so they fit in the car, but it's still unclear to me if I need to buy the strut mounting kits.

Below I have pictures of what I am talking about.

Coilovers -

Front Strut Mount Kit -

Rear Strut Mount Kit -

Front and Rear Bump Stops -

Any help much appreciated.
Cheers, Lachie.

You should need the front and rear mount kit.
The rear kit comes with a bump stop but the front doesn't.

The Bilstein kit looks like it has the front bump stop already.
Look at RealOEM if you get stuck, it shows the assembly patterns.

Thanks Spazzz. I just had a look at real OEM. (never heard of it before) and it looks like I will need these mounting kits just to be safe, as roads in Australia are absolute crap and I'd like to make sure I've got everything right so I don't end up shooting a strut through my bonnet when I hit a pothole.

This is my first car and I'm still getting my head around everything since I don't have any practical experience.

Appreciate the quick reply!
Cheers.

IMO get new front mounts and the stiffer rear upper mounts (Monroe makes some dirt cheap or you can get the Poly ones). The isolators wouldn't hurt either. No need for bump stops since the Bilstein kit comes with new ones in the correct length.

You definitely want new shock mounts. The body mounts wear out faster than the dampers on these cars. Although one can drive on 'worn' body mounts for a very long time.

What are you doing with the car? OE style mounts are fine on the street. You'll want to upgrade to ball joints if it's going to be a track car. They ride harder but will keep the tire in much better contact with the surface.

Hi OP, I just ordered the same B14 package and having the exact same dilemma.

Did you finish installing them? What extra parts did you end up buying/using?

Thanks!
