Tuning E92 335xi (Higher Mileage) Looking for Feedback!

Hello all!

I would love some feedback regarding tuning a higher mileage N55.

I have owned the car for around 2 years and daily drive it.

Is there anything else I should do for the sake of longevity for the engine/surrounding components?

Is it smarter to get it tuned in a shop rather than by flashing?

Last major failure point I have not addressed is the HPFP but plan to over the summer.

Miles as of current day: 102,144

Current Parts List:
  • MHD Super Liscense
  • ARM Motorsports Downpipe
  • HPS Cold Air Intake
  • ARM 7” FMIC (maybe)

Will be changing spark plugs/coils prior to tuning.

Below is the maintenance history:

Spark Plugs/Coils: Will be installing the OE kit from FCP Euro prior to flashing.

Transmission Service (ZF6AT): Has never been done.

Alternator: Replaced within the last 1k miles.

Water Pump/TStat: Replaced within the last 1k miles.

Drive Accessory Belt/Pulleys/Idler Pulley: Replaced within the last 2k miles.

VCG: Replaced at 81k miles.

Radiator: Replaced at 81k miles.

Coolant Resovior: Replaced at 81k miles.

HPFP: Original has not been replaced.

Oil Changes: Every 5k miles with 5w40 from Liqui Moly.

Sounds like you are on top of everything really. I'd expect any issues to be exposed through the mapping. For example, only after I had flashed MHD did I start getting codes regarding the HPFP in my car.

The OTS maps via MHD are cheap and easy as a starting point.

Same as wrevilo said.
Spark plugs and ignition coils and you are good to go to Stage 2+
Maybe a good idea to change also the fluid in the front/rear differentials and transfer case along with the transmission service.
