335xi misfire code
Hey all first time BMW owner here.
Bought a 2008 335xi last week and it started throwing misfire codes today. Replaced all the spark plugs and that fixed one of the 2 codes but I’m still throwing misfire on cylinder #2 (only when under load). Next step is gonna be replacing the coil. The question is: Is cylinder #2 referring to firing order (second closest to the firewall)? Or physical cylinder #2 (second closest to the front)? I know this is a simple question but I’ve found conflicting information online. |

After I replace the coil if it still throws the code I would guess the next steps are:
- check on the condition of the injector - check for cracks in the valve cover Any other suggestions? It has a stage 1 MHD tune, could this be contributing to the misfires? Thanks in advance, I have done a lot of work on other platforms, but I’m just getting into the world of BMWs. |
