Single turbo transmission issue
So im having this issue with my transmission where it will not shift. Every other gear works but whenever i put it into drive it will not upshift or downshift. I have replaced the transmission/shifter/transmission harness, pretty much every hardware piece to no avail. When i was trying to vin match the transmission it gave me a hard time but eventually was successful. I have a jb4 and custom mhd bef on the car. Im at my wits end with this thing. If anyone has any insight on other steps i would be very appreciative.

is it you with an old JB4 gen4 and and unknown flash file?
chance are low, but can be related. There was many update since then, both MHD and Jb4. MHD can mess with transmission. since this should be a item you should upgrade, I would start with that, even if not related. - get a used Jb4 gen5, with bluetooth, flash the latest BMS firmware for ST, get all the settings to base one (you can find it on jb4tech) - Flash MHD BMS free single turbo map, and turn off all MHD options. Log and do your own tune. Option 2 : manual swap, and this will enable MHD launch control |

Which steering wheel control utilizes the stock map? It is set to 4/2 right now, i want to see if running the stock map will change anything

https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=799033 mine is 4/0. The BEF is now your stock map, 0/0 (disable jb4) and 0/1 is the base map no boost control (wastegate spring). better run 0/1 for jb4 safety stuff. |

Yeah its on 0/0 and then menu 4 is on 4/2. Im thinking it has to be some type of software issue.

if you want to mess with the JB4, you need to 0/1 at least |

Unfortunately it did not help. I will wait for the g5 board and see if that fixes my issue. When i put the car in drive it will not upshift or down shift and when i put it into d/s it does the exact thing.

JB4 shouldn't mess with the transmission anyway.
you always can try to backup your original .bin file from BEF via MHD, and then flash the single turbo file on jb4tech. I'm running this file, and the car is insane , even if not optimized with a ''tuner''. did you check the auto transmission swap thread? shifting point is often related to some imput such as rpm, load, pedal position, speed etc. So a lot of electronic . you can diagnos with inpa and/or ista. Be sure to set jb4 at 0/0 before, since it will try to connect and fail. |

Please verify fluid level
Looking at your previous post on this issue, you still have not validated the fluid level in your transmission.
Please do the basics first, before you venture down the tuning rabbit hole. If it is underfilled, nothing JB4 can do to help it. |

So at stop the transmission fill hole is ''overfilled''. Annoying procedure, require to jack the car at 4 corners. |

When car is cold (if not wait for car to cool down), start car and then pull fill plug. Once you get up to 40 deg C there should be a small stream coming out. Also what fluid did you use? I’ve heard issues with use of liqui moly’s fluid in the 6HP Last edited by konstat; 10-29-2024 at 05:59 PM.. |

Are there any codes that you can provide using protool (assuming you ended up buying it) or any other car functions that are also problematic.
Guessing at what it could be at this point but I know if FRM is faulty it causes issues in other modules. From your other thread and this one it seems like you’ve changed everything that is relevant to the transmission itself so unless codes tell you something maybe it’s time to look for the problem elsewhere in the car? |
