I just had 4 tires replaced by BMW(12000 mi). When the car was new I ran the tires to 7700 without rotating, (as the manual states nothing aobut rotating) the front tires were cupped bad, the radio on loud music could just drown out the wining noise from the cupping. At 9000 mi I had an allignment (off a little), was done around 11,0000 miles the noise became as bad as before and at 12000 all 4 tires were replaced. Has any 325XI owner found similar issues?
The dealer is suggesting rotation every 3000 mi, which I understand will proabably help minmize the uneven wear, but hardly a reasonable solution for BMW? too soft of tires? or combination of soft tires and aggresive stance for the all-wheel drive? Not happy with the marketing of a product that boasts low maintence and then having to rotate twice as often as other vehicles. any thoughts?: Last edited by Old guy still barefoots; 06-14-2006 at 12:19 AM.. |

I know with the sport package, you cant rotate the tires, becasue the tires in the back are a different size. I hope mine last longer than 12,000 Miles.

i know its not quite the same, but my dads Porsche Cayenne had to get new tires like every 15000 Kilometers....not a lot...
these high performance tires we have on, especially with the sports package, they wear really fast.
