Best Advice On Using An Electric Buffer
I'm going to detail my car on my own to try and save some money in this crumbling economy...
Can anyone give a amatuer any advice on the best technique, products, and methods of buffing waxing and perhaps even wet sanding. Thanks! |

talk to george at detailedimage or phil at detailersdomain for a porter cable kit to set up. that's the least expensive beginner kit out there right now

agreed. You wont get a lot of cut from it. but you'll still be able to get a pretty good shine out of it!

Might want to look into the Flex also. Pretty typical (from what I read) for someone that has a PC to sell it in 6 months or so and step up to a Flex.
Look on Youtube for PC vs Flex videos. |

I did read some negative review about Flex. But overall, Flex was better than PC. I am using a cheapy, just to practice my skills. Once I master using a buffer, I am moving up to something more expensive, like DeWalt or Makkita.

i've used a flex and a 7424 and i love my flex a lot more. what negative reviews have you heard from it.

It's also a good idea to read all you can online and even watch some videos to familiarize yourself with techniques and procedure.

I live 20 minutes from Griot's headquarters, so I took my car in and received several hours of hands on training. That was 2 1/2 years ago. Beyond getting training on claying, and other prep work....you need to learn little (but important) things....such as what speed to start at, when to adjust your speed, the proper pattern to use when working the orb, and even the proper way to apply product to your pad...and then having the forsight to not spray yourself....your car...and your walls. Griots actually has a DVD for sale....however you can probably search the web and find something immediately.
