iPhone integration
Hi chaps
Had a quick search through the forum and wanted to check something before splashing out on a new iPhone (was thinking of the HTC Touch HD but it doesn't allow me to integrate with the head unit). I have the USB option and want to confirm all I need is the Y cable to allow full access to the iPhone music/podcasts from the headunit. There seems to be some confusion whether this actually works - do you need to put the iphone into 'play' mode?? I can then buy a brodit mount such as http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodi...dit-Holder.asp (use the pass through so I can use the Y cable) to mount the phone in the car using proclip 653595. Thanks as always for your help. Cheers |

I have the Y piece and the iPhone slot in adapter. However, I have concluded.
For basic phone functions, just rely on the wireless bluetooth communication. For music, get a 16GB memory stick and use that with the 6FL. The Y piece and plug in adapter are best suited for charging the phone. If you use the Ypiece, yet you have to put it in play mode - using a memory stick is much much easier.
