Just wanted to thank all the people who posted here. Last year after I wrecked my car, I decided to take better car of my car. After getting my car back, I started reading this forum and buying all kinds of stuff from numerous places. I did a ton of retrofits (Bluetooth, Ipod, black lines, euro switch, blacked out grill) and spent hours polishing my car.

So today when I took it in for service the rep was amazed at how awesome the car looked. There was another monaco blue near mine and we compared paint and he was stunned. I told him how much time and effort went into making the car look awesome and he thought i was crazy :P

Just make sure he doesn't wash it for you!!!

Feels good when someone else comments, doesn't it? I just had mine in for some warranty work last week and there was a black 750, silver M5 and a black 550 in the area with mine and they were all absolutely trashed/filthy. I have a laminated sign I hang on the steering wheel that says "Please DO NOT wash". Those guys probably wait for the service to get it washed.

same thing happens to me. a good ammount of work..but well worth it imo.

Yeah. First thing I tell them when i bring it in: DONT WASH MY CAR. They havent yet.

In addition to telling them, think about putting a "sign" on your center counsel or passenger's side seat that says "Please do NOT wash this car." You never know how their lines of communication work (or don't work).
