First Tune

Guys,

I've had this car for 1 1/2 years and finally want to add a tune. My car is a lease and it will end this August, but I will be getting a N54 engine car, just not sure which one yet. Regardless, I will transfer the tune.

I am leaning towards the JB3 but have one question:

How do/can I switch maps on the fly? My progman version is post 29.2.

Thanks!

I think you can get the Rixster boost gauge. I believe that allows for on the fly map switching.

Tunes are in the midst of a sea change. If I were you, I would consider a cheap tune like the JB+ with a modest (+2 psi) power increase that is within the range of design for ECU adaptation (if you don't live at high altitude). Sell it when you get your new car, and get a flash after break-in.

The JB3 allows you to change map version by tapping the gas peddle with the engine off. Very quick and easy to do at a stop light if the mood takes you.

I have the Rixster with JB3 and extremely happy with it. Easy to install (both gauge and cable into ECU to connect to JB3). 4 maps available directly from gauge:
1: Race map
2: Pedal map switcher with chosen map
3: High boost
4: Stock

JB3 has a specific high altitude map that you can select with gas pedal .
