Im not looking to gut or delete them. It would be nice to be able to swap to stock for inspection and so on. I want HFCs to balance the effort between emissions and power . Trying to maximize power without totally killing the enviroment.

Air traffic and commercial boat traffic does the killing .....

And all industry

not cars....

But if you cut away the rear catts and install a straight pipe there , you got a plenty enough effect I think , cheap also , just need some clamps , pipe and off you go...

How many of you guys would be interested in a HFC center section? We might be interested in making one.

I guess ill just say why so much effort instead of listening to ppl telling me to remove the 2nd catts all together. I already have cattless downpipes.

I did a mech lab in college on catalytic converters. Catalytic converters reduce emissions of NOx and incomplete burned hydrocarbons by ~99%. In essense... for every 1 person going full catless ur equiv to about 100 cars worth of pollution (in essense youre driving a whole fleet of cars). I think its fine if u drive very few miles, but i drive/commute quite a bit. Im okay with say throwing out the pollution of 10 cars? maybe even 20. but 100 is rediculous.

Aside from that, its just the smell and smoke i want to avoid. Personal preference. Researching options now. I hope theres a vendor with em. Ive searched some but cant find any. Closest i saw was catback from AE with HFC option. Looking for midpipe solutions...

That would be sweet! Are you telling me that nothing exists aside from straight pipes with no cats so far?

Supersprint does center part with HFC but Andrew you know i would jump on your center with cats straight away ;-) .
These are the supersprint ones:

I am going to check out these 2 pieces directly at Supersprint in Italy in April. Will see. Its only 50 km from where i live in Italy, very expensive though.

I would be in the first batch, and if you could have them ready before my next state inspection in december, that would be great

Interested. It would be a nice addition to your catless DP I'll have soon.

Anyone know what these would sound like on an otherwise completely stock exhaust?

I like the way the pipes sound stock for the most part, but a little extra growl and maybe a little more volume would be nice (any power? maybe 5hp?); and I'd rather not ditch the butterfly valve exhuast--I actually like being able to close one side for sound reasons.

The butterfly just after the muffler and just before the tip on the exhaust, so this is not even in the same area. The midpipe attaches to the downpipe and would attach before the mufflers.

Any good muffler shop can cut out your secondaries and replace them with HFC's. A good HFC should reduce NoX just as much as the BMW ones do, so you should be fine. I kind of doubt you will notice the difference in performance though... I could be wrong.

I know these don't effect the butterfly valve; that;s why I wanted to know how they would sound/perform with the stock rear section.

If I have secondary delete pipes, is it easy to install HFC's on them? to avoid being entirely catless? but still be entirely bolt on?
