In case you were wondering where the 335 is in the pecking order

here is a video I shot today while on the way to MIR for a private track rental, thread to follow on that as well. video shot on closed highway of course, all other cars were our friends.

I was in my friend Brian's 2008 LS3 vette w/ vararam intake and ported throttle body. The 335 is Clem's (Adams) who was running straight 104 octane, Procede V2, and BMW dual cones. Adams car is a legit 116mph car as confirmed again today. His 335 and his driving are top notch. That comes in another thread.

I was sitting in Brian's LS3, I weight in around 190lbs. Adam got the jump in his 335 and was by himself......but that didnt matter.

Adam did not let off in this video.....Adam please correct me if I'm wrong (maybe right at the end?).

LS3 FTW.....and oh the sound:

the 2 cars in question

Adam's 335

Brian's LS3

Those ls3 corvettes are something, just wish the interior was better. However, I do miss my 01 Z06. It had a vararam intake too.

I had no doubt on what the outcome would be. The corvette is indeed one fast car with quite a potent engine. Not a fair comparison, but is a reality check for those who think a tuned 335 is the shit. Good shit no doubt, just not THE shit.

Thanks Sniz!

Would it even be close if the 335 was modded out with DPs, exhaust, FMIC? I figure he would've lasted somewhat better but that was an ass-wuppin nonetheless.

been there, done that.

I ran against Jamie Furman at MIR in my fully tuned 335 while he was on his way to his record breaking 10 second BONE STOCK Z06 run....on runflats no less. He left me like I had 5 fat hookers in the trunk. It was ugly....and amazing at the same time.

I trapped 116mph slipping and sliding through 3rd gear, he trapped 130.xmph......enough said.

mayyyyybe a little, but that vette is good for 120mph+ traps with 2 VERY small mods. Wait until heads and cams and headers and exhaust get thrown in. At that point a Z06 is going to get pulled by the LS3 just as hard.

there is a reason the LSx series of motors is so well renowned.

you should have been there today....Jamie rolled out his new Viper, his 2nd one that is.

Busted a record in that car too. Bone stock, 100 miles on the odometer.....10.92 at 129mph. That man can drive!

I'll post up another thread with that info and pics.....a ton of pics.

WOW,
I just remember what a beating he put that Z06 through that day. I don't think i have ever seen anyone launch one of those cars that hard. He can drive. That same day my budy in the yellow Z06 was getting closer to 12s.
