What double-sided tape will hold my front license plate w/o damaging paint?

Got a used E90 and I guess the front bumber never had holes drilled for the front license plate bracket. I dont' want to drill holes, i'm thinking about using double sided tape to hold the plate bracket instead.

Is there a strong enough tape that will withstand conditions, is waterproof, and will not damage the paint that I can use?

you may consider a kind of silicone paste glue ... (don't know what you call it in america only know it in dutch )

it's called TEC-7 here and it mixes 2 components when you use it and trust me it sticks like hell

Problem is ofcourse ... if you ever need to change or remove the plate ... you'll be spraying dissolvent and wedging it forever

I used glue and hope I never have to take it off. It's stayed in place for two years.

Don't use glue or tape!!
Spend a few more dollars and get yourself a tow hook plate holder, It's called Rhoplate.

Rho-Plate things looks gay - sticks out to far and is off to the side and if someone backs into it messes up your bumper bad!

Get this one http://www.skenedesign.com/FPBracket/index.htm or use 3M double sided emblem tape - it will work and not damage the paint.

I just use normal 3M tape. The plate has been on my car for 2years and there is no problem. Just make sure u clean the 2 surfaces properly before u stick the plate on!

Ya the Rho plate thing looks soooo weird, I would rather just bite the bullet and drill the holes into my front bumper or get the Skene one.
