boost pressure deactivation code thrown?
i brought my car to the dealer for an oil change , check the brakes and try to update the ecu software from 29.2.. they wouldnt do it because i had my DCIs on but i took the JB3 out of the car. they are sending the info out to bmw to be analyzed, should i be worried? i dont have any official code numbering. im sure it is related to the few times i have gotten limp mode from the JB3. they said everything else checked out fine tho.

You should be ok, as last I checked the JB3 is 29.2+ compliant, as long as you ordered the 29.2+ chip version. As I recall there were two versions when it first came out.
It's always a good idea to remove DCI's for service, but it really depends on the dealer, but some repairs require a field engineer, and if I were a field engineer, I would assume if the customer had DCI's he probably had a tune on there at one time. There is no need to call attention with those DCI's. |
