Thank you for the genuine responses, I was guessing $3k to $5k. I'll try to post pictures before repair, its a pretty sad sight

Hard to tell you how much something is going to cost without knowing what is actually wrong/broken/bent first. Last E90 I worked on that had suspension damage on both sides, and some in the rear cost around $6k I believe.

i had a similar problem....my bill came up to $4700 not including bumper scratches and misaligned fender....but the body ran me $400 to repaint front bumper and realign the front left fender (lets just say i knew the guy who owns the body shop - fast and quality work - dropped it off in the morning and got it back in the afternoon)

Insurance. No way to know without checking. Have a dealer do it if insurance covers so you get all new parts instead of fixed and missed stuff.

I just got my car back after slamming into a curb with my driver's front wheel at ~40 mph. Total cost was $7300. And the only cosmetic charges were a front bumper and aero lip.

It may be difficult to negotiate with insurance, but it would be nice to replace the suspension parts with M3 bits, or do a full HP Autowerks job.

Sorry to hear that. This is one of the easiest things to do in a car. Especially if you are not familiar with the road. Unfortunately, the BMW doesn't appear to be set up to withstand much road damage without expensive repairs for such a minor oversight as hitting a curb too hard. I mean, at the very least you have to replace the wheel, tire, and have it aligned. One wheel and tire off a sport package is around $1,200. No?

This is a hard repair to estimate, as you can seriously tweak the subframe and body of the car in an impact like that, which would drive the cost up dramatically.

Even a 20mph impact with a solid object (ie tree or curb) is a HUGE hit. I'm not sure it is realistic to expect any car to survive that without damage, especially not a car with aluminum front suspension parts

Well, you are assuming it was a straight on hit. Often when you are turning the car, you dont turn enough and it results in a glancing blow of the curb which some cars will survive without damage and others will suffer major $$$$in repairs.

That being said, buying a light weight "performance" sedan with 18" alloy rims, sport suspension, lets face it, paying for suspension repairs comes with the car. So we just have to be extra careful.
