Should I upgrade my V1 from my v 1.7 unit?

I'm thinking about upgrading to the new V1 unit...does it still use the "phone cord" style plug for the power? I'd hate to have to open up my sunroof panel again to re-hardwire the new plug.

Only gain is POP protection. Totally useless. I did the upgrade a year ago. It is not worth the money nor the additional headaches.

Ver 1.8 still uses the phone cord.
