Question

Same warning came a couple of days ago on my "friend's car" (40000km). Is it safe for him to take this car to track before maintenance is done?

No. Over time, brake fluid absorbs water and when it does, the effectiveness of the fluid is diminished. It will boil way too quickly and your friend may get a spongy feeling during the tracking.

When you're on and off the brakes as you would be on the track, the fluid can get heated really quickly. So tell him to spend the couple of hours and $100 to get it done and have some peace of mind on the track.

Thank you. He hoped to do it after track but good point about "boiling too quickly". Made an appointment to change it. Anyone else is going to Cayuga Track on Sunday?
