N52 Turbo retrofit? Need n54 info
Hey fellas,
For lack of a clearly defined subforum, I have parked this thread here. I know that If I go into the N52 NA section I won't find the answers I am looking for. Mods please move if you feel this is the inappropriate section. I am mainly trying to define the operational differences and potential hurdles to retrofitting the n54 manifold onto a n52 block. Please keep the flaming ()to a minimum as almost every search on the topic leads me to a 335 only turbo topic. In addition I am not looking for the 101 reasons to purchase a 335. Just looking for answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. N54 3.0 liter Compression: 10.2:1 6 cylinder inline DOHC 24v Direct Injection Turbocharged Double VANOS aluminium/cast-iron petrol engine N52 3.0 liter Compression: ???? 6 cylinder inline DOHC 24v Valvetronic Double VANOS aluminium/magnesium petrol engine I know that the intake design is different between the 2 engines. I suspect that the internals on the n54 (335) are made of stronger materials and that the compression is a little bit lower than the n52. Any more info regarding differences/similarities/major hurdles would be helpful |
