E9x MY2010

Just read this on the forum

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281652

Is the MY210 UK spec the same as what's been posted?

I know Darren has posted about the new spec for MY2010.
But not seen any posting what the new MY2010 spec is.

Just found this on our company lease site.

BMW UK have advised us of the following amendment - Wheel 2K9 - 16" V-spoke style 360. This alloy wheel option will not be available for the 320d ES Touring (ZH16) due to technical reasons. The wheel remains a no-cost option for all other 3 Series Saloon and Touring ES models.

Please be aware of the following equipment changes that will take effect as of week 36 -

Active Aerodynamics Deleted, All petrol models
Storage nets on seat backrests Deleted, All model
Cup holders in the rear armrest Deleted, All models
Long-wave reception within BMW Professional radio Deleted, All models
Soft-stop function of DSC+ Deleted 6-cyl. models

So without DAB, which is crap, you can no longer listen to Test Match Special on R4 LW. Why delete that you miserable buggers??

An Active Aerodynamics didn't last long before they realised it was rubbish.

My thoughts also but would that be justification for a price rise although the 'deleted' options for the other models would point at prices remaining the same in order to save money..........bit like a restaurant not increasing prices but reducing the size of the portions. Doesn't sound much but a company does that over thousands of meals or in this case cars and the savings for the company stack up.

Wonder if other high end car manufacturers will 'follow suit'.

So what are these two items? Never heard of the 1st one I thought it was to do with ED cars.
Is the 2nd item to do with the DTC button on the dash - so you can't switch on snow mode manually?

Are these wheels labelled BMW Performance as i'm sure I seen these on a car at stealers last week.

Active Aerodynamics is the closing of flaps behind the front grill to disperse air more smoothly when the engine cooling is not needed.

Soft Stop is a function of the DSC that, when braking to a complete halt, gently relaxes the brake pressure right at the point the car stops to avoid the slight jerk that happens otherwise when you come to a full stop.

Both a waste of time.

The first one is ED cars only; the second is 6-cyl only but nothing to do with manually switching off DTC if you wish.

On a car that's notorious for overheating? No wonder they deleted it.

Is there any option that can avoid the big jerk in the car next to you at a traffic light?

Cant be rubbish as they have left it on the D's

Although I dont think M Sports have Active Aero anyway, so does that only leave SE's with this :

Active Aerodynamics sounds just like an interim idea to keep things cleaner for the CO2 figure, they probably got the same figures required via new mapping, so can ditch it now

cheers

So it looks like it better to go for a business spec model then instead of a MY2010 car.

I didn't know it was notorious for that?? I can't imagine it improved the Cd by much anyways. It only closed at speed.

So is the Active Aerodynamics part of the Efficiency Dynamics then?

Read in WHICH magazine that BMW have increased prices of a 3 series by +2% but Ford and Vauxhall have increased by as much as +14%.
