Fixing Minor Scratches and dings
So I bought the touch up paint BMW offers.. tried it on the most noticeable scratch on the car and it turned out looking worse. Looks like a big flat elevated blob and is really easy to notice while walking by the car. I haven't applied the clear coat yet but I doubt it will help. Is it supposed to look this bad? Does anyone know if buffing it after a good wax job will flatten this paint bump or at least make it less noticeable? What other alternative is there to fixing annoying but noticeable scratches on your car without big blobs of paint?
Thanks. Mark |

Hey Mark,
For dings, you're best off taking the car to a PDR (paintless dent repair) place. Those are impossible to fix yourself, unless you're skilled with PDR. Scratches (small ones) can generally be touched up, but it shouldn't look like what you're describing. You might want to get out Dr. Colorchip (http://www.drcolorchip.com) - many users here have had success with their method and products.
