So I installed my AE Exhaust yesterday...

All I can say is WOW! this system is beautiful. Theres no need for a review cause ofcourse theres a few here already, from Mr 5, Jpsimon, etc.. but here are a few quick words followed by my advice to anyone in the market:

Fitment and Quality: my mechanic was blown away, very impressed with the hardware, no fitment/alignment issues, AE did thier homework.

Performance: I definetly feel the car more responsive. More "umph" to it. The few extra ponies are there.

Sound: Beautiful! deeper, more meaner grumble, sweet distinct sound when getting on it, I simply can't explain it and the sound clips simply cannot capture it.. at all!

Thanks AE, for the fast shipment.. and quality exhaust. There is however one problem I noticed today though, its obviously something related to the install or my car.. yesterday I drove it all day and it was fine. This morning however, I get the half check engine light malfunction on my dash.. turned off the car, back on again.. and drove for another 2 mins, and it comes on yet again.. any idea what might have caused this? I'm gonna call my exhaust shop/AE later on today, just thought someone might have some kinda idea here.. any input is appreciated. I am catless btw on stock downpipes.

Finally my advice to anyone in the market: Get it! you will not reget it.

Catless you say? Do you have O2 Sims? OR am i way off on this one? That might explain the 1/2 engine light..

The AE exhaust alone should not cause this light.
You say you are catless with stock downpipes. That's an oxymoron since there are cats in your stock DPs.
Did you gut your stock DPs?

You're right, im sorry.. all I did was have my shop install the AE exhaust. Still have the stock DP's, nothing else was done, just bolted on on exhaust.. only other mods I have on the car is an AFE intake which I had on for about a month or less. No problems prior to this.

Great review!

As for the issue you're having- As Mr. 5 said, theres no way the exhaust could cause that... but just to be certain it would be a good idea to check to make sure everything is tight from the exhaust install, mainly the downpipe/exhaust flange at the front.

This could more than likely be a coincidental issue with a tune, or something else altogether. Ive gone through a few fuel pumps myself, so its definitely possible for it to be that again.

Glad you're enjoying the exhaust, and thanks again for the kind words!!

I bet that after today, that limp mode probably won't come back. While I agree with most that a catless downpipe back should not cause a limp mode, it happened to me, so you are not alone in that experience.

I originally had a Britalman exhaust and leaving the install shop, I got on it, on the on ramp about 2 mile from the shop when I went WOT. It happened one more time, then never again.

I don't know if the ECU is seeing different flow and needs to adjust or what, but again, you are not alone in that experience.

Does turning off the car and back on clear the limp mode? Would be a pain in the butt if this happened and you need a bt scanner to get the car going again.

probably ECU adapting to better flow, but you can always pull the codes to be 100% sure

Ya, instructions say to disconnect the battery when installing the exhaust to allow the ECU to reset for proper adaptation. Could explain what happened here with your temporary limp/s.

Ahh.. was all good until this morning, hit limp mode 3 times on my way to work... I don't know if this will help but maybe I should try disconnecting the battery to reset? if so for how long? I honestly don't know what do at this point, its very frustrating
