Well I spent endless hours detailing the car as I am sure may of you do. I have a e90 2008 with the Terra leather and brown wood. Well I always use the Meguires Iterior Detailer on the inside, but not the leather. Recently over the last 6 months I have noticed a progressive hazy opaque look to the wood only. I detail the inside maybe 3 times a month. Am I doing something wrong?
The car is garaged, tented and covered so I do not think it is the heat. Is it possible that the Meguires is not as safe on the BMW wood as I thought? What other products for general interior wipe down is superior and any thoughts on how to restore the look of the wood is greatly appreciated. ANyone else have a similar wood problem? Thanks, Robert |

well, sounds like its hazing/oxidizing. i would try to use a product that can remove hazing/oxidation. maybe a light polish from menzerna or klasse aio?
As for interior cleaner, i ALWAYS use einzett cockpit premium from Phil @ Detailers Domain. Both of those places have great sales right now before the 1st so I'd try to give it a try! I'm sure you will get other comments, thats just how I would try to solve the issue

I would also add that using a cleaner that is specific to either leather or interior trim will help to give each area of the interior the proper care it needs. Often times the "all-in-one" products will accelerate the deterioration of different surfaces while extending the condition of others. I happen to use the Prestine leather cleaner & rejuvenator specifically for the leather. Since my interior trim is now now Jet Black I simply polish & wax as I would the exterior of the car. |

Yeah, lots of good information in the above few posts.
I use 303 Aerospace on the wood in our BMWs. It does a nice job and keeps it looking good. Swissvax also makes a polish/wax specifically for wood trim, I've always wanted to try it out. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...ROD&ProdID=265 Might be something to consider.

Same here. I wipe down all the interior surfaces with 303. It leaves a haze on the wood trim, so i go back over that with a MF towel and it leaves the trim sparkling.

When I used to have wood trim, I used Plexus to clean/polish it. Then some 303 to protect it. Seemed to work well for me.

einszett cockpit is great for the interior that is not covered in leather.
einszett leathercare is great for new leather its a one step cleaner/conditioner if you need more for your leather go with Leather Master Rapid S followed by Leather Master Vital Conditioner. lmk if you have any questions. also don't forget your sale code you can find it here... |
