Red brown leather - what's it like in the flesh?

Looking at... http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_d...UV72020A492403 and it says it has Red Brown leather, but in the pics it looks just like coral red to me. Anyone got (or seen) Red Brown leather? What's it actually like?

Also, 2 other dealers in the UK seem to have identical cars to the above (diff. reg's though, so not the same car), all space grey, red brown leather, <100 miles, nav, etc, seems strange, any idea why? Shame they haven't got xenons though.

Ex BMW UK cars always registered in yorkshire. Paintwork is ALWAYS badly swirled on all the cars I have seen. Good machine polish will correct that mind. Nice looking car.

Not always - my last car was immaculate, albeit there were only 2500 mile on the clock when I bought it.

Fair point, but obviously pre-registered and stored. All 3-6 month old cars seem to be appaling, although depends on how anal you are with black cars! I rejected one and have never seen such a shocking car for the age. Some brand new cars are equally as bad mind. If it looks ok, go for it.

bungle,

I've seen that car in the flesh and it's stunning. The leather is definitely more red than brown and suits the car perfectly. I'm quite tempted by it myself. I'm sure they all have xenons too, hence the "visibility pack" on the specification.

Bungle, I have red/brown in my new 335i.

That AUC photo link IS red/brown, its very hard to get it right in a photograph compared to 'real' life. It comes out 'bright' in photos.

It divides opinion, it looks great in nearly all light. In bright sunlight it can look a bit terracota-ish. Looks really really good from outside through tinted glass (where most people see it)

We love it though, such a refreshing change from black, really shows of the shape and stiching in the seats..

link to pics of my car....

Thanks for the replies all. Spoke to the dealer, he said it is Red/Brown, but just comes out bright in photos with the flash (as has been said). Photos above look great! (much better than in the dealer photos). Think I need to see the car in the flesh really. And check that the boot's big enough for all my kid's stuff! (I've been told the touring boot isn't actually as big as you might think, so will need to check it out I think).

bungle,

If you're going to Rybrook, speak to Phil Mahon. I've known Phil for about 20 years and he's a great chap to deal with.

I sold the E90 for an E91, and its not just about litres!!

The E90/E92 boots maybe quite reasonable in litres but the opening is small and restricts what you can fit in.

The Tourer, up to the window line, has almost the same litre size as the saloon, but because you've got all that space above it makes a huge difference. Even an errant bike handlebar that will stop it going in the saloon will be fine in the tourer.

Pic below is packing for 2 weeks in cornwall + 2 kids! Built in cargo screen gives a strong barrier behind the rear headrests to stop things coming through and the opening boot window is genius and stops everything falling out if you want to grab something quickly! BTW 335i/d boot is shallower than all the other models due to twin silencers underneath (about 40 litres less)

Just changed from an Astra (current shape) Estate to an E91 - boot is definitely smaller but it's still plenty for most needs.

I have it in my 320d coupe m sport and I was a little apprehensive as my missus chose it but it actually looks quite nice. It look alot darker in the flesh than it does on that picture.

Thanks again. It's the opening that I'm quite concerned about, as my son's Bugaboo (any parents out there may know what I'm talking about, otherwise you won't have a clue!) is quite wide when folded, so I'm concerned that it won't fit in width-ways. I need to get myself to the dealer to test it out really, I'll make that a job for the weekend (by which time the cars I'm looking at will probably have been sold, but hey ho that's life, plenty more fish in the sea!).

Bugaboo - piece of p##s

We have a Mamas & Papas Joolz which is bigger than a bugaboo by some way. At the same time a Maclaren Quest umbrella fold pushchair. If you take the wheels off (the bugaboo that is) you'll have even more room for long journeys.

No probs.

Just order the rubber boot liner to keep all the pram wheel crap off the carpet!

Bungle - we have a Mothercare My3 (big three wheel all in one buggy/pram) which fits in okay - but it's tight.

mmm, I hope so, but... I've just been trawling the web, and seen a couple of comments that say that they could only get the chassis part of the Bugaboo in, and not the buggy/pram part! I don't know whether they were just muppets that couldn't fold the Bugaboo down properly, or it genuinely doesn't fit, but obviously it has planted enough of a seed of doubt in my mind that I couldn't order it without testing it out now (when I previously test-drove one (albeit ages ago) I didn't test it would fit ).

I think you'll find the Doc Martin colour was 'Ox Blood'

Bungle,

The bugaboo base fitted in my missus's mini boot - an that is tiny. The pram had to go on the back seat of the mini, but it will fit in the E91 easy.

Our Joolz pram part is bigger than the bugaboo and it goes in easy. If you are a bit anal and insist on having the luggage cover pulled closed all the time then you may struggle to fit much else in along with the travel system...

We easily manage the travel system, highchair, toys, baby stuff, over night bags etc for weekends away without putting anything in the passenenger compartment.
