DIY for Intake Manifold??

Does anyone by any chance have a DIY for the intake manifold? I broke the plastic nipple on my intake manifold while “trying” to install a BOV and will be replacing the whole manifold with a new one. It has already taken a big hit on my wallet and was wondering if this is something that I can replace myself?

Are there any special tools require outside of what’s already in a reg. tool set?

I was already quote almost $400 by an independent shop which is about twice as much as I wanted to spend…but will if its necessary…any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

AMS Performance put out a DIY for replacing the HPFP... that includes basically getting the manifold off, but not out of the car... (although winging it to take it out of the car probably isn't too hard)

As far as tools... probably some torx stuff.. can't remember.. probably listed in the DIY

If you are mechanically inclined.. probably would take 3ish hours to swap out...

Now the question.. how did you break that while working on a BOV ?

I know this thread is old, but has anyone just drilled & tapped the manifold & put a brass barb in place of the nipple?

I don't see why it wouldn't work, as long as the threads are aggressive enough.

Anyone know how thick the walls of the stock intake manifold are?
