Clear bra questions...

Did some searching, couldn't seem to find definite answers on some questions I have.

1. The installer told me to make sure I keep the clear bra waxed to keep it shiny like the paint. However, how do you keep it clean in the winter? I went through automatic car washes when I could with past vehicles when the temperature was above freezing. Would that be enough?

2. Is this safe to use on the clear bra? It's a pretty tough sponge.

3. I bought some Plexus with the bra. Is it better to use a wax or sealant on it to keep it protected instead of just shining it up with Plexus? I bought Werkstat products to use on my car and was hoping to use these to protect the bra.

4. How long until I can wash if I got it done today? The installer told me to wait 4 days but the warranty info he gave me said 24 hours...lol I was hoping to was, polish, seal, and wax on Sunday!

Thanks guys!!

Okay, real simple.

Treat the clear bra "film' just as you would the paint. Keep it clean, maintain the finish with regular cleaning & waxing. There's no need to use anything other than what you would use when cleaning the paint.

Never "scrub" on the "film" as it WILL scratch and keep a good, even coat of wax applied. The wax will prevent the film from EVER yellowing however, the warranty included with the clear bra most likely includes a clause against yellowing anyway.

Same scenario goes for the winter months.

Keep the car in the sun to allow the moisture to dissipate from beneath the "film". After 48 hours do the detail for Sunday. I also have the clear bra installed and waxed it within 48 hours of installation.

If you're planning on claying/polishing ...... DON'T do it to the clear bra.

Thanks for the help! So what's the safest way to get bugs off the front bumper now? Just gently wash with the wash mit?

No problem man .....
For now, just wait til Sunday to clean the bugs off. I know it sucks, but you don't want to snag the "film' either.

The best & easiest way to clean the front end off in the future will be to use a QD and a MF towel. You won't believe how easy ANYTHING cleans off the front ........ definitely a wise investment.

Thanks again! Oh I don't have any bugs yet, just wondering for when I do get some caked on there. I'm taking a trip up to Cleveland next weekend so I'm betting I'll have a nice collection up there lol
