Are 235/40/18 ok?
Looking to fit OZ Chrono 18x8
with 225/40ZR18 XL General Exclaim UHP Blackwall or 235/40/18 General Exclaim UHP Blackwall Thanks! Sorry should have posted to the general questions about tires thread not the FS thread ... oh well maybe some one can move it |

Yes, you can fit 235/40 on those 8" wide wheels.

Sure, a 235/40/18 tire supports rims from 8-9.5" wide. Plus many of us run 235/35/19 tires on the front.
But I just looked up the Crono and unless I'm mistaken, it'll be horribly sunken in between an 8" wide rim and 40mm offset.

225 or 235 works perfectly fine on a 8" wheel. 235's will give off a more full look on a 8" wheel.

Do you guys think that going to 19lb rims and 25lb tires is going to give the car a palpable feel in acceleration vs stock 26lb rims and 32 lbs tires. Difference of 14lbs a corner.

My rims are Advan RS 18x8.5 ET32 on all corners. Looks like this. I think the OZ Chrono looks good for the price, but it would be good to see them fitted. In some ways an 8" wide rim is better for 235 tires because the rim won't be as exposed as mine are.
