Getting a E46
Hi everyone. I'm in the process of buying a used 325Ci. I've been looking at E90s and E92s for a while now, but in the end I decided to go with E46. It is a 2006 with around 50k kms. M Sport edition.

Hope you can get it with a BMW extended warranty! E46s repair costs are not cheap! From experience...

Agreed. But they are not as old and I assume most e9x's have a little bit of warranty left...

+1, e46 is a joke! Everytime when I drove off the dealer lot with a Civic or Mazda 3 as loaner when I have my E46 in for service, I feel a big upgrade for a crappy eco tin can! The only loaner that make me want my E46 back was Kia.

Do you think I will need more warranty? I plan to keep the car for 10 years as a commuter and hobby car. Haha that would be nice! Too bad 90% of the time I will be using it for commuting. I'm going for gas savings here. Quote:
The interior is pretty unremarkable, but I spent most of the time looking at the ///M on the steering wheel and the 5MT, and didn't notice much else. I will be at the dealership again today to take another look at the car though. Last edited by boymonkey; 08-11-2009 at 01:45 PM.. Reason: Redundant |

So this 2006 325Ci will be $35100 all included. Another forum member posted in another thread that he's getting a 2009 328i sedan for $43000. Am I crazy to get a 2006 and not a 2009?

I am talking about the overall build quality, refinment, "ultimate" driving dynamic and of course relibility! That pos is worst than a Civic! No doubt when I trade it in, the trade in value is worst than a same yr, same mileage Civic! The M3 steering is the only thing I love about that POS and the 5MT is the worst I ever drove!

there are e90's selling for $29,000 to $32,000 with low km so I think that does sound a bit expensive. Mind you I do like the e46 coupe body style.

There's a 2006 e90 on the same lot for around the same price. I think manual and M Sport are harder to find, so they are selling the e46 at the same price as e90. |

Since you can get an E90 330i with sport package and navi for quite a bit less, just be sure you drive an E90 first to make sure you're making the right decision. I love the E46 as well and it's originally what I wanted however the E90 really is a 6 yr newer car regardless of the build date.

That car is worth $28000 max. You are paying $7000-8000 for the dealership markup and CPO warranty.

You would lose alot of money on the e46, it would depreciate more compared to e90+'s in 10 years. I agree you can look for e90 330i, that you wouldn't regret.

its probably much better on fuel than a 325Ci aswell.. is the guy getting the 2009 328i for $43000 in canada? cos america has much better prices than we have so itd make sense.. but if he is in canada then that car must stock all the way through from the interior to the rims and he mustv got a massive 7/8% off |
