How to upgrade business navigation to new map?
Hi,
I have the new business navigation DVD 2006-1 and I currently have 2005-1 installed. I'd like to upgrade, but don't know how. Who can help? Pascal. |

I think you just swap out the DVDs and it loads on its own... but i've never tried. |

Thats probably how you do it. Anyone copied and shared their NAV discs? I know with my E91, I made a copy of the original Nav Disc and use the copy in the car (keeping the original safe inside).

Well, I tried the simple approach this morning (simply stick it it). The screen went blank briefly, so I was hopeful this meant it had loaded the new maps, but unfortunately all POI's were empty. So I guess this did not go so well. Luckily everything was fine again when I put back the 2005-1 DVD.
There must be others who have actually done this, right? Please let me know! Thanks! Pascal. |

Just resetting the computer by using the bmw ctrl-alt-del won't work with nav bus. Put in the new cd, take the key out for at least 5 minutes and start the car again should work as well.

With a nav-pro car it will reset a "hung up" computer like a ctrl-alt-del on a regular computer hence the "ctrl-alt-del"

Hmmm... well it seems that the system does reboot itself when switching 2005 and 2006 DVD's, but the 2006 DVD is not recognized properly. All POI's are gone. I noticed that the 2006 DVD contains an extra file. Moreover, I read somewhere that newer DVD's only work with new navigation software. Could that be the problem: is my system running an old software version that needs to be updated at my dealership? My E90 is from March 2005...
Anyone? Pascal. |
