I suck at windows!
I've never been very good at cleaning windows. I just wondered if there is something I've been missing all these years, maybe some insiders hint? This is what I've tried over the years:
1. Just wash and dry car with chamois (streaks!) 2. Window cleaner safe for tinted windows and paper towels (streaks!) 3. Window cleaner and newspaper for the outside windows (works better, but gets ink all over the car!)

Are you doing this in direct sunlight?
I found that when you wash your car outside in the sun, then bring it in a shaded area for drying it helps with the streaks, also let the windows cool down if they have been in the sun. That helps out a ton if the window is cool. What do you use for cleaner?

Don't use newspaper on tinted windows either, from what my installer told me.
OP - pick up some "Invisible Glass" and a microfiber (not cotton) towel. The MF will not lint, and the IG is the best glass cleaner I've used. I don't get streaking, and it is safe on tint. Applying out of the sun is not a bad idea, either.

I've just been using an off the shelf "safe for tint" spray similiar to windex. I'm not too worried about the inside of the windows, because I rarely have passengers. I'll try the invisible glass and microfiber. That's at least new to me.

+1 I use CG Blitz, its a sealant so it probably lasts longer than a wax. I use it on the inside and out and it works great!!

Always make sure windows are cool first and that you're not doing this in direct sunlight. Next get two microfiber towels, and spray one with the stoners invisible glass. Use that to clean the window, then follow right away with the second dry towel to buff to a shine. You should have no streaks using this method.

I've always sucked at cleaning windows too, so I know how you feel.
![]() Newspaper and Invisable Glass works great on windows without tints for me. The 2 MF method above sounds like a good method too. You can wax glass? ![]()

What I learned:
1.) Use invisible glass by Stoner's 2.) Apply to one waffle weave microfiber towel and clean window 3.) Buff with second dry waffle weave microfiber towel This seems to be the concensus. I'll let you all know how it works this weekend! Thanks ![]()

Hell yeah! You can wax pretty much anything except plastic trim. I discovered how well it works with my last bimmer. Glass cleaners never worked so I tried wax and was like wow! When applied to the windshield, it also functions as RainX!

Definitely stick with the IG and 2 microfiber towel method. Do it when the windows are cool. Spray. Clean. Buff. Perfect windows every time.

JayKay is right. Buffing with a clean MF as last step is needed for perfect windows. IG with a MF gives great results as far as best chemical?cloth combo. But if you aim a light into it, you will see fog. Buff that fog off and you're good to go.

You're probably referring to liquid wax like RainX instead of a carnauba paste? RainX, Zaino, and Klasse on glass is actually quite common.

Add Aquapel to the list. It works great to repel water on the windshield IMO.
