high pressure fuel pump

mod, please delete if it's been reposted.

i've seen a lot of threads and flames about the HPFP failure, mostly newer 3ers. my question is, if there's any single one or a handful of the 3 owners with some decent miles (~30k+ miles) which never had a single failed pump?
i am just curious if that's a hit or miss thing or every single 335i owner has been replaced the pump at least once or none....

I have 45K on the clock and have never had a failure, but they did replace it anyway about 15k ago.

I'm at 31k with no issues at all, almost 100% of those miles were modded and driven hard too.

so that's pretty hit or miss.... some driving gentle but got a failed pump early, but some driving hard with mod are fine....

+3. No probs (oldest E90 335, built 1st day, 32k miles), but dealer replaced as precaution @ 20k. I guesstimate less than 10% have had failure.

yes no probs in original pump 30k+ miles. But went in for service recall and 2 pumps failed since then. They shouldve left the original one in haha

I think it's more like 1/3 cars has had at least one HPFP issue

Its apparent that the pump stopped being the failure point. There are probably several or multiple points or causes of failure for the HPFP. One of them being that valvue/solenoid i've been hearing about.

No hpfp problem so far at 30.5k.

I've got the whole dsc/dba/startoff assist malfunction though.
