What should I do with ticket?

I got a 'no front license plate' ticket while parked downtown portland last saturday.

What could I do to get out of this? Anyone else experienced this?

TIA

It might be actually, but now I need to find a way to mount the front plate without drilling......Was thinking about using the tow hook on the front to mount the plates.....good idea?

You might want to go to the dealership and put your plate on an AW E90 and take a picture.

Tell the judge that you had a front license plate... but one of the guys that the state of Oregon requires to pump your fuel for you stole it and you didn't get a chance to replace it yet.

Or, there are kits for $50-75 that allow you to mount a license plate without drilling...kinda sucks, but that's my plan if i ever get a ticket for no front plate.

my friend took a string and tied it around his lower grill on his m5. And then just go to a police station and hopefully the cop will sign it off. Go to court and pay a fixing ticket. Then take that shit off!!! and be cool =)

No way to get out of it, the judges are sick of people coming in already. Pay it and avoid parking on the street if you can. I've managed to escape one (hit the remote start from inside a restaurant as the toll collector approached, moved car up the block) but my mother is about 5 deep from parking her Benz around town.

That kit you're talking about.......Does that utilize our tow hook on the bumper?

If so, I'd be interested as well, do you have the link to that kit?

TIA

Tried that before with my E36, but I think the law states that if you have a front license plate, then technically you HAVE to mount it on the front bumper. Or at least that's what I was told by the cop.

So maybe that won't fly so much.............LOL.

Thanks though!

Be careful with this one. No front license plate is what cops love to use as an excuse to pull you over. Who knows what that can lead to: breathalizer, check transparency of window tint, etc.

Let me get this straight. Your whip was parked on the street and they gave you a ticket? That is bs.

+1 yes the law requires you to place the license plate on the front bumper. You can be ticketed if the plate is in your windshield.

Got one a couple months ago while on 12th and Taylor and parked. I had the plate on the dash and got a ticket anyway.

I paid the 35 bucks but after reading the Oregon Statutes determined that I shouldn't have gotten a ticket. ORS 540 says that a front plate must be displayed. But on my ticket it said it had to be afixed to bumper..idiots!

I see this as a front plate tax. However if i get any more I am going to get this:

Does anyone know how much a "no front license plate" ticket runs these days?

It's $124 in Washington and yes you can still be ticketed for putting it on your dash.

Really? Shifting blame? Why not just man up and pay the ticket and accept responsibility?

You gotta pay to play, there is no shame in admitting your wrong, but to try to weasel out of something you KNOW that your doing wrong is sad, and demeaning. Just my .02
