Replacing passenger front window (it got smashed!)

Is it better to deal with the dealership (AutoWest in Richmond) or go to a glass replacing shop. Any recommendations? I'm trying to get a good professional service and a good price.

Dealer will simply contact an independent auto glass shop and take a big cut in the price and chargeback to you.

Therefore, my suggestion is to call around yourself and simply states you want OEM glass. It should save you a couple hundred $ vs. going to dealer.

Probably true for the fixed glass such as the windshield and the rear window but for the door windows I would be willing to bet that the dealer does it as it's more mechanical than a true glazing job.

When my e46 was broken into, the dealer replaced the passenger window.

just go to any glass shop and ask for oem glass
