question bout 335i performance...is it steady?

Hey guys....

When i bought my car last year i remember bmw specs for 0-60 on the car being 5.1 >>> Im not saying i trust these numbers <<< but now bmw posts it to be around 5.6-5.7!!! that would really really suck. Is it possible that with the 29.2 lag BMW is actually cutting performance on their 335i to contrast against the m3?? just curious ... any one with the knowledge UNLEASH

oh yea DINAN or V3 Rev II

Jb3 and v3 are both good. If u just want performance then go with jb3, best 4 the money.

If u want to personalize ur maps, speed delimit, clear codes, datalog, built in o2 modifiers and whole lot more technical stuff ..... Then go with v3 rev 2.

Both the same interms of performance. And too answer ur question based upon new 335's, I test drove a rental 335xi and it really boogy's. It didn't feel laggy or anything, very consistent.... As it should be..

If this was the case, then the HP and Torque reading that the trade magazines got wouldn't match up with the hundreds of independent customer car tests that show the same hp and torque as the "Hot" cars.

The main reason they under rate the 0-60 times is a liability issue. If they print that there car would do 0-60 under 5.0 seconds and the average driver could not achieve this then they open themselves up to false advertising . You will notice 99.9% of the time the 0-60 times of all car manufacturers quote are always slower then reality.

Well the more readings you have the more accurate your measurement... so according to most people on the forums and various other website the e9x's manage around 4.8-5.3 on average - i've read some extreme of 3.9??? of course these are all stock! I say its 5.0

Guys, these are just numbers. What really matters is driving pleasure not 0-60, quarter mile, etc.

Your absolutely right... but I dont want the car to come back from service one day with less pull! given the 29.2 lag or any other ECU update...

My comment was addressed to those comparing real world number with book numbers.
It would be interesting to actually have more information on whether BMW will purposely cut the power through programming. I find it hard to believe due to competition, specifically Infiniti and Audi, but I guess you never know.

well BMW manages to mint money off all their cars especially ///M's and looking back at the previous 3's being no where close to the M3 ... it sparks a thought coz the official specs numbers DID go up.... and so then lets just let people know the truth rather then fragmented information
