I have the audiophile package in my e90, and with all the digging and searching, I can't find where all the 16 speakers are located?

the most I was able to count 9 plus the 2 sub-woofers i assume is under the seats.

Theres the 1 on the dashboard, 2 on the front driver side, 2 on the front passenger side...2 on the left back, and 2 on the right back.

that makes 11...where is the other 5?

I've had so much tinkering to do with the settings to get a semi decent sound, it certainly doesn't sound like 16 speakers!

I even had to fade to the back somewhat, to feel the music was "all around"

I'm with marakbai in saying it doesn't sound like there's 16 speakers in it. How did you tweak it to make it sound better? The only settings I've found is to change the bass/treble etc.. doesn't seem to make a huge difference.

oh man this is going to bother me now. I'm sitting here at my desk and I know the first thing I do when I get off work is to try and find the mysterious 5 missing speakers lol.

Under the settings, you can get to the Tones, and you can get to the equalizer to change the various mhz settings...Also turn off the surround, it'll make the sound much better.

still don't have an answer for the 16 speakers.....even if you count the back speakers as 3-way, and count them as 2 speakers....that still leaves 3 missing speakers???

Here is the 16 speaker break down for my e92, the same should apply to your e90.

1 - co-axial in the top center of the dash = 2 speakers
2 - tweeters in the front door (1 on each side) = 2 speakers
2 - mid drivers in the front door (1 on each side) = 2 speakers
2 - tweeters in the rear side (1 on each side) = 2 speakers
2 - mid drivers in the rear side (1 on each side) = 2 speakers
2 - co-axial in the rear shelf (1 on each side) = 4 speakers
2 - sub woofers (1 under the drivers & 1 under the passengers front seats) = 2 speakers

I love the audio system, I'm not sure how you folks have it setup or tweaked however the next time we all meet up we should do a comparison to see what's up.

where are the 2 tweeters in the rear side? I can't find them...I see the 2 mid-drivers on the rear side...and the 2 co-axials on the rear shelf...no tweeters???
are they suppose to look like the ones in the front door?

what is your equalizer setting?

IMHO equalizer settings are one of those very subjective personal settings, I don't think you can ever have a 'one size fits all' config. Taste of musical genre, listening volume etc... all vary from person to person.

doesn't look like a 3 way speaker.....what we have in the rear door, looks just like the coupe's mid range....1 round speaker..its just missing the smaller round speaker on the left....we see the one on the right...no tweeter..
