ECS Tuning Spacers?
I searched and couldnt find any customer reviews/testimonials. Most seem to use H&R or Rogue Engineering, I'm interested in ECS Tuning spacers, just wanted to make sure they were high quality, on the website http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-335...cers/ES205208/ they seem to be well built and engineered. Anyone have any experience? Thanks

The ECS Tuning spacers look pretty good, but look at these suckers: http://www.rogueengineering.com/Merc...t_Code=WSPACER I don't have anything against the ECS tuning spacers, but I strongly recomend the Rogue Eng. spacers. I've been running a set since the beginning of the summer and they still look as good as the day they came in. Plus they feature this step on the back side to help you remove them, if they become stuck to the hub. I highly recommend them.

Just make sure the spacers you go with are forged alloy and hub centric. This is why we stick with the H&R TRACK+ Spacers as they are track tested and designed for street use. Forged construction ensures they will not crack or warp over time and since they are hub centric, they will not cause vibrations.

I was going to say stay away from H&R as these gave my car the worst steering wobble ever. To the point of being unsafe above 30mph. Hub surface was cleaned fine, when I put RE spacers on I didn't have any of the same problems.

Macht Schnell also makes very high quality spacers that are machined from aerospace grade billet aluminum and then anodized. Here is a thread that will have plenty of pictures of various cars running these spacers:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262054 And here are some pics of the spacers themselves: |

Forgeline wheels et37 and 10mm H&R hubcentric spacers. Removed the spacers no problems, the spacers mounted up flush with the wheels and hubs. I didn't clean the hubs any more when the Rouge Engineering ones arrived a couple days later and had no issues with those, they have been on the car for a few thousand miles now.
My guess, one of the H&R's was warped/bent. Just a guess though.

The MS and RE spacers certainly look like they're higher quality, but of course looks don't typically tell the whole story. That's the first I've see those new RE spacers - they look fantastic.

Yes the Rouge spacers are a machined marvel. I felt bad hiding them with wheels.

Our wheel spacers are CAD designed and made in the USA. We have over 10 years in experience manufacturing spacers for European cars.
Our spacers are machined from 6061 aluminum, anodized then laser etched. They are designed to work with both OEM and aftermarket wheels. We have found some of the H&R spacers will work with OEM wheels, but can have some issues with some aftermarket wheels. We offer a wide range of sizes and offer kits available with or without wheel bolts. Our entire selection of E9x BMW Wheel Spacers can be found here on the website: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-335...aign=postreply Last edited by ECSTuning; 11-13-2009 at 02:44 PM.. |
